VeChain’s VET is trading near $0.007880, down 2.31% on the day, after reaching an intraday high of $0.008162. The pullback comes after a sharp rally from August’s low near $0.0044. That move pushed price above a descending trendline drawn from January’s high around $0.0095. For now, the question is whether this is a normal pause or the start of a deeper reversal.
What The Chart Says
Price sits above all major EMAs. The 20-day is $0.006673, the 50-day is $0.005892, the 100-day is $0.005769, and the 200-day is $0.007027. The 200-day matters most because it is closest to spot. If VET stays above it, the pullback can remain shallow. The weekly Bull Market Support Band sits lower, between $0.005683 and $0.006172, and acts as a macro floor.
On the upside, a close above $0.0085 would open a path toward January’s high near $0.0095. A clean break there would fully cancel the year-long downtrend. On the downside, losing $0.007027 puts the 20-day EMA at $0.006673 in play. Below that, the weekly support band near $0.006172 becomes the next area to watch.
Cointelegraph Validators Go Live
Cointelegraph’s validator arm, CTDG, has launched two validators on VeChain. The network’s official account confirmed the move. Validators help secure the chain and produce blocks. Running one requires a large VET holding, but smaller holders can delegate tokens to a validator and share rewards. Through VeChain’s StarGate platform, rewards are split roughly 70% to delegators and 30% to the validator.
This was possible after the Hayabusa upgrade opened 101 validator slots to operators that meet the requirements. Cointelegraph already runs validators on Solana, Polkadot, and Injective. Its arrival gives VeChain a recognizable media name in its validator set, rather than only anonymous operators. Still, it is not clear how much new demand this creates for VET right away.
VeChain Compares Itself To Ethereum’s EIP-8141
VeChain also published a technical thread comparing its transaction model to Ethereum’s proposed EIP-8141. The company says Ethereum is moving toward features VeChain shipped years ago. Those include transaction batching through Clauses, gas abstraction through VIP-191, and transactions that can expire or depend on another transaction.
VeChain admitted one gap. EIP-8141 would let a wallet’s own rules decide if a transaction is valid, which could support custom signatures or smart-account logic. VeChain does not have that yet. It still checks transactions through a single cryptographic signer. The thread framed the two projects as solving similar problems independently.
September Seasonality And Final Take
September has been rough for VET. It closed negative in five of the last eight years, with a median return of -10.1%. This year is different so far. VET is up 17.6% in September after a 41.4% gain in August.
That strength does not guarantee the trend will last. The recent news is useful, but no single VeChain-specific catalyst explains the size of the rally. The breakout now depends on $0.007027 holding. If it does, $0.0095 is the next real test. If it fails, the market may treat August’s move as another short-lived rotation.
