A political action committee focused on digital asset and blockchain policy has announced its endorsements for the 2026 US midterm elections. The Blockchain Leadership Fund, a hybrid PAC launched by Chainlink Labs and Anchorage Digital, revealed its picks on Thursday, potentially influencing key races with funds from the crypto industry.
Senate and House endorsements
The PAC endorsed ten candidates, including four for the US Senate and six for the House of Representatives. On the Republican side, they backed Barry Moore in Alabama, Kurt Alme in Montana, and Jon Husted in Ohio for Senate races. For the House, they supported Houston Gaines in Georgia’s 10th district, Jim Kingston in Georgia’s 1st district, and Jon Bonck in Texas’ 38th district. Democrats also got support: Angie Craig for Senate in Minnesota, and Adrian Boafo, Christian Menefee, and Don Davis for House seats in Maryland, Texas, and North Carolina.
Bipartisan approach and funding
An Anchorage Digital spokesperson emphasized the need for bipartisan participation to keep the US competitive in financial technology. The PAC, which can contribute directly to candidates and make independent expenditures, had only $175,000 in funding as of Thursday—$100,000 from Anchorage and $75,000 from Chainlink. It may announce more endorsements before the November midterms.
Some of the endorsed candidates already won their primaries on Tuesday. Kingston and Gaines secured Republican wins in Georgia, while Moore heads to a runoff in Alabama after failing to secure a majority. They’ve also benefited from media spending by Fairshake affiliates: Defend American Jobs PAC spent $8.5 million combined on their behalf, and Protect Progress poured over $4.1 million into supporting Menefee and more than $2 million for Boafo.
Crypto money flows into Texas Senate race
Meanwhile, the Texas Senate race is drawing significant crypto money. The Fellowship PAC, funded by Cantor Fitzgerald and Anchorage Digital with $11 million, reported spending $500,000 to support Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. This comes after a month when Fellowship reportedly pulled media funding for Paxton due to pressure from Republican leaders toward Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, who has ties to Cantor Fitzgerald.
President Donald Trump endorsed Paxton over incumbent John Cornyn on Tuesday. State Representative James Talarico won the Democratic primary in March and will face the Republican winner after the runoff between Paxton and Cornyn.
